Die ältesten Aufzeichnungen der Shee erzählen von einem verrückten Wissenschaftler namens Sir Lormis, dessen Passion für technische Spielereien und genetische Experimente zu seiner Zeit wohl beispiellos war. Einige seiner verschollenen Versuche sind nun wiederentdeckt worden, darunter Gaius (ein früher Prototyp der späteren GAIA) nebst einigen anderen gewissermaßen mechanischen Organismen.
